Stefania Szczerbin, 93, of Haverhill, passed away Friday, July 1, at Wingate at Haverhill.
She was born Oct. 4, 1922, in Poland, where she was also educated. She immigrated to Haverhill in 1951 with her family. Szczerbin worked for many years as a fancy stitcher in the local Haverhill shoe industry. She enjoyed traveling and her daily walks which brought her all around Haverhill and Bradford. She walked every day until she was 90.
Szczerbin was predeceased by her husband John Szczerbin, who passed away in 1982. She is survived by her two sons, Alexander Szczerbin and his wife Felicja of Haverhill and Ted Szczerbin and his wife Cathy of Dublin, Calif..
Calling hours and funeral were Tuesday, July 5, at H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Burial is in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Haverhill. Contributions in her memory may be made to St. James Parish, 185 Winter St., Haverhill, MA 01830.
