Police Arrest Gilbert Ave. Residents on Drug Dealing Charges

A tip led Haverhill police to arrest three Haverhill residents Monday afternoon on heroin and cocaine drug trafficking and other charges.

Joseph Samoisette, 29; Lisa Samoisette, 28; and Charles Ambers-Christian, 30, all of 31 Gilbert Ave., Haverhill, were arrested between 2:27 and 2:54 p.m., Monday, at their home. Each was charged with trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in heroin/morphine/opium and conspiracy to violate drug laws. Ambers-Christian was additionally charged with assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Lisa Samoisette was additionally charged with possession of a class E drug, driving with a suspended license and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

“This investigation and subsequent arrest were the result of our good and concerned citizens who made calls to the Haverhill Police anonymous tip line and reported what they thought to be drug dealing in their neighborhood,” said Lt. Robert P. Pistone, police spokesman. “The Haverhill Police department relies heavily on these tips and applaud the concerned citizens for taking action and encourage others to do the same. The Haverhill narcotics Detectives did an excellent job on following up on these tips and should be commended for a job well done on this case,” he added.

Armed with a search warrant, police seized 120 grams of heroin, 70 grams of crack cocaine with a street value of approximately $12,000 and $870 cash.

Those arrested are due to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court.

In other police news, a Haverhill man, arrested Monday evening as a fugitive from justice on a warrant, is due to appear in district court. Christopher Philo, 34, of 23 Vine St., Haverhill, was taken into custody at 7:54 p.m., Monday, at 7 Dustin St.
