Adrienne J. (Gerriets) Yemma, 84, of Haverhill, passed away Sunday, June 26, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill.
She was born in Queens, N.Y., April 27, 1932, daughter of the late Alfred & Elise (Schroeder) Gerriets. She graduated from Julia Richmond High School in 1950 and later worked at Lucent Technology as an administrative assistant. She was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Lawrence. She also was very active in many local and state political campaigns. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Salvatore “Gus” Yemma, who passed away in 2011; granddaughter Sarah Percival; and her brother Alfred Gerriets. She is survived by her son Eric Yemma and his wife Kathleen of Kennebunk, Maine; daughter Lisa Percival and her husband Marvin of Manhattan, N.Y.; grandchildren Damien, Shane and his wife Rita, John and his wife Alyssa, Luke, and Salvatore Percival, Eric Yemma Jr., and Margaret Yemma; and great grandchildren, Ryan and Parker Percival.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours Wednesday, June 29, from 4 to 7 p.m. at H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Her funeral is Thursday morning, June 30, at 11, at the funeral home. Interment follows in the Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave., Boston, MA 02215.
