Joseph DiPrimo, 84, Founded Local Electronics Firms

joseph_deprimoJoseph DiPrimo, 84, of Haverhill, died on June 18, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Boston.

Born Sept. 20, 1931, in Lawrence, he was the son of Antonio and Concentina (Bonfiglio) DiPrimo. He was raised in Lawrence and graduated from Lawrence High School with the class of 1950. He went on to serve in the United States Naval Air Corp in the Anti-Submarine Squadron. Following his honorable discharge, DiPrimo went on to pursue a career in electronics, earning an associate’s degree from UMass Lowell in Engineering. He formed several electronic companies including Semi-Conductor Circuit, Instant Instruments in Haverhill, and most recently AAK Corporation in Plaistow, N.H., with his wife, Elaine. He also served as treasurer of the Boy Scouts of America Ayers Village Council from 1970 until 1974. A wintertime resident of Melbourne Beach, FL, Joe enjoyed traveling around the world with his wife, family, and friends. A history enthusiast, Joe also enjoyed bike riding, playing tennis, gardening, and anything that allowed him to be outdoors.

DiPrimo is survived by his wife of 47 years, Elaine (Gordon) DiPrimo, and a brother, Nicholas DiPrimo of Haverhill. He also had the pleasure of spending time with four step children, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

There are no public services. A private family gathering will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, Finance Department, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016. Arrangements are under the direction of Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill.
