Haverhill Man, 55, Faces Charge of Assaulting Police Officer

A Haverhill man is due in Haverhill District Court to face various charges, including assault and battery on a police officer, stemming from an investigation which led to his arrest Sunday night.

Rodney Gingras, 55, of 43 Jackson St., Haverhill, was arrested at 10:13 p.m., Sunday, at home. He was charged with disorderly conduct, two counts of threat to commit a crime, assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest.

In other police news:

Two motorists, arrested separately by Haverhill police early Saturday on drunk driving charges, are due to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court.

Franklin Nunez, 37, of 7 Arlington St., Haverhill, was arrested at 2:34 a.m., Saturday, at 120 Washington St. He was charged with a single count of driving under the influence of liquor.

Carlos Garcia, 36, of 52 Brook St., Haverhill, was arrested at 5:41 a.m., Saturday, on Coffin Avenue. He was charged with driving under the influence of liquor, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and driving with a suspended license.

A Haverhill man, arrested Sunday night on a charge of failure to attend jury duty, is due to appear in court. Robert Simpson, 53, of 100 Winter St., Haverhill, was arrested at 9:36 p.m., Sunday, at 200 Main St.
