Peter Kritikos, 76, of Haverhill, husband of Stavroula (Tzortzis) Kritikos, passed away June 14, at Holy Family Hospital, Methuen, surrounded by his family.
Born in Yerakas, Lacona, Greece, he was the son of the late Kostas and Efrosini (Leka) Kritikos. With his family he emigrated to the United States settling in Haverhill in 1970. With hard work and determination he was an American success story. He loved his homeland of Greece and grew to love his new country of America. He was a painter, painting houses, interior and exterior. He was known for his gardening skills as well. Proud of the tomatoes he grew, he loved being out in the yard working in his garden and keeping his yard beautiful. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons, Kostas Kritikos and his wife Marisol of Cranston, R.I., and John Kritikos of Haverhill; and a grandson Peter Kritikos of Cranston, R.I.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 16, 11 a.m., at Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church, 156 Winter St., Haverhill. Burial follows in Linwood Cemetery.
