Polins Demonstrates Developing an Oil Landscape June 26

Jason Polins demonstrates developing an oil landscape later this month at Buttonwood’s Museum, according to the Greater Haverhill Arts Association.

Polins, a Bostonian who began his career in his early teens drawing poster designs for high school plays, provides the demonstration Sunday, June 26, from 2 to 4 p.m., at Buttonwoods, 240 Water St.

He received his BFA from Boston University, then studied at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy where he honed his skills as a realist painter. Returning to Boston, he continued painting and studying with notable painters such as Nelson Shanks and Gary Hoffman. He has a strong connection to The Boston School of Painting and pursues the ideals of strong drawing skills, composition, and color in his art. He paints and teaches at his studio in Somerville.
