Robert F. Barrett, 79, Worked at Vernon Plastics

Robert_BarrettRobert F. Barrett, 79, of Haverhill, passed away Saturday, June 4, at West Roxbury VA Medical Center.

He was born in Boston on Nov. 19, 1936, son of the late Alphonsus and Raffela (Grande) Barrett of Saugus. He was educated in the Saugus School System and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict in Nevada and Japan. After his military service, he was employed as a quality control inspector at Vernon Plastics in Ward Hill for 26 years until his retirement. He was involved with the Haverhill Community Church and supported American Veterans and the American Legion.

He was the husband of the late Carole (Demars) Barrett, who passed away in 1998. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Alphonsus and Donald Barrett. He is survived by his wife, Leonore (Gabree) Barrett of Epping, N.H.; daughter Carole her husband Thomas Petrillo of Haverhill; Leonore’s children, Mark Theberge and his wife Alison of Kingston, N.H., Julie Ribet of Kittery, Maine, William Theberge and his wife Kimberly of Brentwood, N.H., Diana Theberge of Kittery, Maine; granddaughter Emily, Leonore’s nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren Juniper and Jackson and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at both the VA Medical Center and Penacook Place for the love and care they showed for Robert in his time of declining health.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation Wednesday June 8, from 5 to 6 p.m., at H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main St. (route 125). His Funeral follows the visitation at 6:15 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be private and at the convenience of his family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to local Veterans organizations.
