Julio L. Baez, 63, Worked in Local Shoe Industry

julio_baezJulio L. Baez, 63, passed away June 1 at Merrimack Valley Hospice, Haverhill, surrounded by his family.

Born in Puerto Rico, Jan. 14, 1953, he was the son of Crispiliana Baez and the late Julio Baez. At the age of 15 he moved to Haverhill with his family. He was employed in the shoe industry in Haverhill for many years. He loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar. Never having any children of his own he was devoted to his many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his siblings, Aida Baez, Justina Arriaga, Maria Pagan, Carmen Baez, Lydia Maisonet, all of Puerto Rico; Otilia Matos of New Jersey; Elizabeth Baez, Hipolita Baez, Aurea Baez, Jose Baez and Zoraida Baez, all of Haverhill; and 37 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Julio Baez and his brother Israel Baez.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours Sunday, June 5, from 2 to 5 p.m., at  Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services will be Monday, 10 a.m., in the funeral home. Burial follows in St. James Cemetery, Primrose Street, Haverhill.
