Phyllis E. (Wilcox) Croteau, 87, Worked at Chaucer Leather

PhyllisCroteauPhyllis E. (Wilcox) Croteau, 87, of Merrimac, died Sunday, May 22, at home, surrounded by her family. She was wife of the late Roland Croteau, who died in 1996.

Born in Newport, Vt., Dec. 25, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Lila (Raven) Wilcox. She was employed as a billing and payroll clerk at the former Chaucer Leather of Haverhill for 15 years until her retirement. She was a foster grandparent at Tilton School, Haverhill, for several years.

In her spare time, Croteau enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and reading books. She also loved Red Cardinals and collected many items over the years that adorned her home and yard
She is survived by her five children, John Lamy and his wife, Jill of West Reading, Penn., Rick Lamy and his wife, Donna of Atkinson, Maine, George Croteau of Merrimac, Virginia Northrup and her fiancé, Thomas Daggett of Plaistow, N.H., and Thomas Croteau and his wife, Shannon of Hampstead, N.H.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Standley Wilcox and his wife, Eleanor of Ft. Meyers, Fla.; son-in-law, Brad Rawson of Oskaloosa, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Penny Rawson and her six siblings.

Her visiting hours are Friday at Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave., Haverhill, from 2 to 4 p.m., with a service at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Brookhaven Hospice, 6 Beech St, Framingham, MA 01702.
