Bruce F. Mascaro, 77, Worked at Foss, Owned Landscaping Co.

Bruce_MascaroBruce F. Mascaro, 77, a lifelong resident of Haverhill, died unexpectedly at his home Tuesday morning, May 17.

He was born in Haverhill, Dec, 23, 1938, son of the late Frank and Dorothy (Allard) Mascaro. Educated in the Haverhill school system, he graduated from Haverhill Trade School. From 1957 to 1961 he served in the United States Navy, stationed in San Diego, Calif., where he met his wife. Upon being honorably discharged from the Navy he and his wife married five days later and drove from California to Haverhill. He was employed as a supervisor at Foss Manufacturing for more than 15 years and also taught night school at Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School. Upon retiring he operated Bruce Mascaro Landscaping. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating. He and his wife owned boats “Raisin Hell” and “Always Something” which were at Abbott Marina.

His survivors include his wife of 55 years, Joan L. (Lanphier) Mascaro of Haverhill; sister, Brenda Gallant and her husband Dave of Daytona Beach, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Joyce Dahlin; and several nieces and nephews. Mascaro was the father of the late Monica Lynn Mascaro, who died in 2010.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours Tuesday, May 24, from 4 to 6 p.m. at H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Funeral service and interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be made to the MSPCA, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
