Schools Conduct Used Musical Instrument Donation Drive

Haverhilll Public Schools band program will conduct a used instrument donation drive to “give children the gift of music.”

Organizers “are accepting school band instruments including wind, brass and percussion, along with keyboards, guitars and accessories.” Instruments will be collected during the All-City Arts Festival, from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, May 23, and at 9 a.m., Monday, May 30, in the lobby at Haverhill High School auditorium, 137 Monument St. Instruments can also be donated at any Haverhill middle school during their “spring band concert” event, or by appointment.

“Minor repairs will be made as needed to ensure they are playable prior to distribution,” a spokesperson said. Donors are asked to include a donation form, available online, with each instrument, Donations are tax deductible and forms will be returned by the band program with an appraisal.
