Mary M. (O’Leary) Finnigan, 92, Worked at Ornsteen Shoe

mary_finniganMary M. (O’Leary) Finnigan, 92, of Haverhill, a breast cancer survivor, died Thursday night, May 5, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House, Haverhill.

She was born in East Weymouth, Jan. 30, 1924, daughter of the late John and Sylvia (Towns) O’Leary. At the age of eight her family moved to Haverhill and Finnigan was educated in St. James school system. She was employed for a period of time as a packer at the former Ornsteen Shoe, and as a bow maker at DAVCO. She was a longtime member of Sacred Hearts Parish.

She was the wife of the late Leonard Dick, the late Ralph Finnigan, and mother of the late Joyce M. Grandmaison. Her survivors include a son, Leonard W. Dick Jr. of Santa Barbara, Calif.; daughter, Sandra L. Neves of Sandown, N.H.; brother, Joseph O’Leary of Atkinson, N.H.; three grandchildren, Deborah Cobbett, Brian Lurvey, Chris Grandmaison; seven great grandchildren, Andrew, Josh, Dakota, Spencer, Hunter, Montana and Cody; great-great granddaughter, Haylee Cobbett; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass of Christian Burial Friday May 13, at 11 a.m., in Scared Hearts Church, Bradford. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Haverhill, will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Haverhill and Bradford.
