Bradford Man Faces Assault Charge After Sunday Arrest

A Haverhill man faces an assault charge in Haverhill District Court following his arrest by Haverhill police early Sunday.

Thomas Hanes, 58, of 16 Parkview Lane, Bradford section, was arrested at 1:28 a.m., Sunday, at 63 South Main St. He was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

In other police news:

Three people, arrested separately during a warrant sweep Friday afternoon and evening, face unrelated assault, drug and motor vehicle charges in court.

Myles Hapenny, 26, of Methuen, was taken into custody at 3:47 p.m., Friday, at Haverhill District Court, 45 Ginty Boulevard. Under an outstanding warrant, he was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.

Michael Pedroza, 33, of Lawrence, was arrested by Haverhill police at 6:12 p.m., Friday, at 12 Washington Square. Under several warrants, he was charged with three counts of driving with a suspended license, two counts of operating an unregistered motor vehicle and one count of speeding.

Tyla Ellis, 29, of Merrimac, was arrested at 8:50 p.m., Friday, on Charles Street. Under an outstanding warrant, she was charged with two counts of distribution of a class B drug.
