Library Offers Free Herb Garden Workshop Saturday

Betsy Williams will present Mrs. Thrift’s Portable Herb Garden.

The Haverhill Public Library is hosting a free workshop on making herb gardens.

Betsy Williams will make the presentation Saturday, May 7, at 2 p.m.  Tastings of herb butters, nuts and vinegars as well as recipe sheets will be available. There will also be a raffle of a custom portable herb garden.

Williams is a lifelong gardener, herb grower and cook. She trained as a florist in Boston and England and combines her floral, gardening and cooking skills with an extensive knowledge of history, plant lore and seasonal celebrations. Her gardens, floral work and retail shop have been featured in many books, national magazines and newspapers, including the New York Times, The American Gardener, Victoria, Better Homes and Gardens, Country Living Gardner, Colonial Homes, the Herb Companion and Traditional Homes.
