Haverhill Chamber Seeks Board Member Nominations

Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Stacey L. Bruzzese.

The Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations of business leaders to serve on its board of directors.

Candidates must be willing to serve a three-year term, beginning July 1. The board annually considers applications and nominations “in order to maintain a board characteristic of the local business community to represent the chamber membership,” a statement said.

“Each year, we bring new professionals to the board room with fresh perspectives and innovative ideas. We are very fortunate to have a community with many gifted and hard-working individuals, and this year we seek a few creative individuals who can assist in the continued outreach and growth of membership. Serving on the board for the Greater Haverhill Chamber is an active way for a business owner or executive to demonstrate their confidence and commitment to the local business community,” said Chamber President and CEO Stacey L. Bruzzese.

The board of directors acts as the governing body of the chamber and determines objectives, policies and activities, as well as, ensuring fiscal responsibility. Directors are expected to attend monthly meetings, organize and participate in chamber and/or community events and make themselves available for special meetings and events throughout the year.

Interested individuals are asked to submit a letter of interest and a completed application (available here) to be reviewed and considered by the chamber’s executive committee. Applicants (or nominators) are also asked to submit a photo and a short biography for use in promotion in the event of an election by the chamber membership.

Nominations will be accepted through May 11. Any Board member who has just completed two consecutive terms shall not be eligible for nomination until 2017. Nominees must be members in good standing. Nominations may be faxed to (978) 373-8060, or scanned and emailed to [email protected].
