Linda A. (Lampron) Akstin, 69, Kindergarten Teacher

Linda A. (Lampron) Akstin, 69, passed away peacefully at her home April 30, following a battle with cancer.

She was the wife of James P. Akstin and was born on July 13, 1946, to the late Ernest J. Lampron and the late Dorothy (Atwood) Lampron. She graduated from Haverhill High School, class of 1964, and attended Northern Essex Community College. She worked at Bell Labs for many years before finding her true passion, working with young children, as a teacher at Ann Crane’s Kindergarten where she taught for 27 years. Following her retirement she spent winters in Naples, Fla., where she found a new challenge and love, playing golf. Linda was as beautiful outside as she was inside and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her husband of 48 years, she is survived by her son, Eric Ernest Akstin and wife Sarah of Ellington, Conn.; daughter, Julie (Akstin) Dearing and husband Bradford of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren; brother, Ernest J. Lampron Jr. and wife Angie of Groveland; sister, Marylee Durocher and husband George of Haverhill; brother David Lampron and wife Susan of Rochester, N.H.; along with several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends will gather at 9 a.m., Friday, May 6, at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main St., Haverhill, to be followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Hearts Church. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Interment at the Lithuanian Cemetery.
