Schools Seek Middle School Parents for Substance Abuse Program

Three professionals will be on hand Tuesday, May 3, to help parents of middle school children who may be at risk for substance abuse.

“Preventing Substance Abuse in Middle School Students” features Dr. Maddox, a pediatrician and school physician; Laura Mayer, district clinician and substance use liaison; and Lori Curry, middle school health educator. There will be a panel discussion and question and answer session. Haverhill police are also participating in the program.

It is the district’s fourth parent presentation on substance abuse prevention and takes place Tuesday, May 3, 6 to 7:30 p.m., at Hunking Middle School gymnasium, 480 South Main St.

Light refreshments will be provided.
