School Committee to Discuss Kukenberger Departure

Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum Julie R. Kukenberger.

A pending search for a successor to departing Haverhill Public Schools Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum Julie R. Kukenberger is the center of discussion tonight by the Haverhill School Committee.

On the meeting agenda, Committeeman Paul A. Magliocchetti requests discussions with Superintendent James F. Scully about the position and his recommendation. In a related matter, Committee Vice President Gail M. Sullivan is requesting discussion regarding an “exit interview for assistant superintendent.” Further details were not disclosed in agenda materials.

Kukenbeger, who has worked in Haverhill the last two years, was recently hired by the Scarborough, Maine school district as its next superintendent, according to Haverhill school officials. She will continue in Haverhill the remainder of the current school year and begin the new job July 1. She was hired to replace Dr. Mary Malone, who left to become the superintendent of the Ayer Shirley District.

The Haverhill School Committee meets at 7 p.m., tonight, in Theodore A. Pelosi Jr. Council Chambers at Haverhill City Hall.
