Jeanette Ackley (Patterson) Booth, 77, Bank Teller

Jeanette Ackley (Patterson) Booth, 77, of Groveland, died Saturday night, April 23, at Lawrence General Hospital surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Carl L. Booth, to whom she had been married 51 years this past Valentine’s Day.

Daughter of the late Herbert and Beryl (Lundy) Patterson, she was born in Boston, Jan. 2, 1939, graduated from high school in Boston, then went on to graduate from Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill. She had worked as an accounting secretary, a bank teller at Pentucket Bank, and as a receptionist at Women’s Healthcare in West Newbury.

A dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, she took great pride in caring for her family. She was their “Rock of Gibraltar,” their safe haven, their advocate and their best friend. From praise and critique to reprimand and unconditional love, they could always count on her being there for them. With her exceptional skills, she could crochet, sew, quilt, make clothing and drapery, always ready to whip up anything at any time for anyone who needed something, and it was always something specially crafted from the heart. In addition to all that, she was a talented painter, knew how to communicate in sign language, loved music, and fully enjoyed the rustic simplicity of camping.

Besides her husband, she leaves behind four children, Richard Eaton of Haverhill, Robert Eaton and wife Gail of Boerne, Texas, Ronald Eaton and life partner Donna of East Hampstead, N.H., and Todd Booth and fiance Tricia Costin of Haverhill; grandchildren, Eric, Vanessa and Samuel; along with many dear friends. She was predeceased by her son, Brian.

Visiting hours at the Monument Square Chapel of Paul C. Rogers Family-Carnevale Funeral Home, 334 Main Street, Haverhill, are Friday, April 29, from 5 to 7 p.m., immediately followed by services at the funeral home. Burial will be private for the family. Kindly omit flowers, instead donations in her memory may be made to Boston’s Children’s Hospital Trust, 401 Park Drive, Suite 602, Boston, MA 02215.
