Hospice House Flower Brunch Raises More than $24,000

Stephen Janavicus of Flowers by Steve, Haverhill, presented a floral arranging demonstration to cap off the 3rd annual Friends of Merrimack Valley Hospice “Spring Has Sprung” fundraiser brunch which raised more than $24,000.

The Friends of Merrimack Valley Hospice hosted its third annual “Spring Has Sprung” fundraiser brunch Sunday, April 17, with a special floral arranging demonstration by Stephen Janavicus of Flowers by Steve of Haverhill, flower sales and prize raffles. Support for the event brought in more than $24,000 that day to benefit Merrimack Valley Hospice House and the services of Merrimack Valley Hospice.

Board Vice President, Susan Desmet announced the 2016 Friends of Merrimack Valley annual gift commitment which includes specialized medication and computer carts to Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill. These carts will enable the nurses to spend more time at the patient’s bedside. Additional funds raised during the year will be put toward charitable care for those facing financial hardship, so that they may receive quality, end-of-life care they deserve and need.

The Friends of Merrimack Valley Hospice was created by a group touched by the work of Merrimack Valley Hospice and the Merrimack Valley Hospice House. Friends of Merrimack Valley Hospice is an auxiliary, all-volunteer service organization supporting Merrimack Valley Hospice’s patients and their families by raising awareness and funds through yearly activities.
