Police Charge Lawrence Man with Drug Trafficking at Westgate

A 26-year-old Lawrence man is expected to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court after being arrested Friday and charged with drug trafficking.

Xavier Navarro-Rivera, 26, of Lawrence, was arrested at 8:09 p.m., Friday, at Westgate shopping plaza, 400 Lowell Ave. He was charged with trafficking in heroin or morphine or opium and conspiracy.

WHAV is seeking more information from police.

In other police news:

Five area motorists are due to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court on drunk driving charges, among others, following separate arrests by Haverhill police over the weekend.

Nicole Murray, 47, of Salisbury, was arrested at 8:36 p.m., Sunday, on Broadway. She was charged with driving under the influence of liquor, alcohol from an open container and operating a vehicle without an inspection sticker.

Valerie White, 59, of Atkinson, N.H., was arrested by Haverhill police at 7:27 p.m., Sunday, at 1314 Main St. She was charged with driving under the influence of liquor, leaving the scene of an accident with personal injury and two counts of assault and battery on a police officer.

Terra Heimbold, 31, of 350 Washington St., Haverhill, was arrested at 9:53 a.m., Sunday, at home on a single count of driving under the influence of liquor.

David Correa, 41, of 39 Mercury Terrace, Haverhill, was arrested at 11:58 p.m., Saturday, on Main Street for a single count of driving under the influence of liquor.

Kerry Ryan, 28, of 560 East Broadway, Haverhill, was arrested at 9:15 p.m., Saturday, at Westgate shopping plaza, 400 Lowell Ave. She was charged with driving under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and alcohol from an open container.

A Lawrence woman sought by police on warrants for assault charges was arrested in Haverhill on unlicensed driving and other charges by Haverhill police.

Taylor Pumphret, 22, of Lawrence, was arrested at 2:52 p.m., Friday, on Charles Street, Haverhill. She was charged with unlicensed driving, disguise to obstruct justice and failure to stop or yield. Under outstanding warrants, she was also charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. She is due to arraigned in Haverhill District Court.

Christopher Sardella, 40, of 1034 Boston Road, Haverhill, was arrested at 5:27 p.m., Friday, at 687 Salem St. He was charged with assault, destruction of property, making annoying telephone calls and threat to commit a crime.

Three Haverhill residents charged by police with disorderly conduct, stemming from arrests during two separate investigations over the weekend, are due to appear in district court.

Oscar Sanchez, 31, of 16 William St., Haverhill; and Ronald Lawler, 45, listed by police as homeless, were arrested between 3:45 and 3:50 p.m., Saturday, at 181 Merrimack St.

Daniel Rosado, 34, of 74 Portland St., Haverhill, was arrested at 7:53 p.m., Friday, at 40 Nichols St.
