Daniel Forte, 81, Advisor to Presidents, Former Deputy Sheriff

daniel_forteDaniel Forte, 81, passed away April 14, surrounded by his family at Maine Medical Center after a long battle withmany illnesses.

Forte leaves his wife of 59 years Arlene, sons Daniel and David and their spouses and numerous grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father John and mother Mary (Coppola).

Early in his career he was a primary school teacher, principal, professor, college dean and president. Forte also served as a deputy Sheriff of Essex county. He was an advisor and fundraiser for congressman, senators, governors and two candidates for president. Later he successfully turned this attention to real estate development and was well regarded as knowing the art of the deal and creative finance options. However, his true passion was food, especially Italian regional cooking. He was the author of four cookbooks. He was well known throughout the hillside towns of Calabria, Tuscany and the streets of the North End of Boston. The many feasts he prepared will be missed by his friends and relatives. The recipes have been passed down to close family members.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his calling hours Tuesday, April 19, from 4 to 7 p.m., at H.L. Farmer and Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main St. (route 125) Bradford, MA 01835. His funeral will be Wednesday, April 20, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Haverhill.
