Plaistow Seeks Trash Hauling and Recycling Bids

The town of Plaistow, N.H. is accepting bids for a new three- to five-year solid waste and recycling service contract.

A Request for Proposals (RFP) was posted Friday by Plaistow Town Manager Sean R. Fitzgerald. The new contract would be effective July 1, 2016.  Deadline for bids is 3 p.m., Wednesday, May 11.

“Currently, the collection is weekly for regular pickup and bi-weekly for recyclables at all residences (including but not limited to apartments, condominiums and cluster developments) and town-owned buildings (excluding schools),” the RFP reads. “The Town consists of approximately 1,820 homes, 714 condos, 125 two-family, 36 three/four family and 52 apartment units. The town currently supports 20 containers that range from 1 to 10 yards.”

Current contractor JRM Hauling and Recycling Services, Peabody, Mass., has provided the town’s solid waste and recycling services since June, 2010.
