HHS Girls Volleyball Team Hosts VolleyBowl Sunday

A bowling fundraiser takes place Sunday to help send the Haverhill High School girls volleyball team to a national tournament in Florida in August.

The team is hosting a VolleyBowl Family Fundraiser from 10:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., Sunday, April 10, at Academy Lanes, 725 South Main St., from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., according to Haverhill Public Schools. Individual bowlers of all ages and teams are welcome. Proceeds will be used to defray the cost to team members to compete in the KSA Events National Tournament at the ESPN Sports Complex in the Walt Disney World Resort, Bay Lake, Fla., near Orlando. It is to be held from Wednesday, Aug. 24 to Sunday, Aug. 28., according to Hstourney.org.

“KSA Events is a nonprofit organization that sponsors high school sporting events and provides individual scholarships to the select seniors competing in the events,” a statement reads. “KSA gives athletes the opportunities to develop and demonstrate the educational aspect of sports. National events expose students to new forms of responsibility and sportsmanship.”

A contribution of $25 per person includes bowling, shoe rental and lunch. Prizes and raffles will include a Tom Brady autographed football and “an exclusive prom package.”
