Storm Takes Out Ayers Village Power

The calendar says April, but Haverhill and the Merrimack Valley today received a second dose of February in two days.

Light snowfall moved into the area during Monday’s morning commute and, in addition to the nearly two inches which fell Sunday morning, a total three to five inches are forecast locally by the storm’s end Monday night. Temperatures are expected to remain below freezing.

National Grid reported 70 electric customers in the Ayers Village section of Haverhill near the Methuen and Salem, N.H. lines, were without power earlier this morning. Crews worked to restore service interrupted by wind–related issues since Sunday night. A winter weather advisory and high wind warning are in effect until 7 p.m., Monday, according to WAVE weather.
