Merrimack Street Partial Closures Take Place Wed., Fri.

Temporary daytime closures to thru traffic for ongoing utility work on the eastern end of Merrimack Street near the Harbor Place construction project are scheduled this week on Wednesday and Friday.

According to Haverhill Economic Development and Planning Director William Pillsbury Jr., the latest request by Harbor Place contractor Dellbrook Construction for street closures between the Herbert H. Goecke Memorial Parking Deck and the Pentucket Bank drive thru entrance came on Friday. The two days-per-week closures for next week are, at this time, tentatively scheduled for Monday, April 11, and Tuesday, April 12, according to a Dellbrook spokesperson.

“Local traffic will be allowed as always to the bank, local businesses and the Goecke deck,” Pillsbury said. During the closures, the Pentucket Bank drive-thru will be accessible through the parking lot in front of the lower level parking deck entrance and exit onto the intersection of Merrimack, Main and Water streets. Merrimack Street thru traffic will be detoured onto How Street and connect with Bailey Boulevard.

Those temporary closures of Merrimack Street are expected through the month of April.
