Angelis S. Herman, 16, Tutor for Special Needs Students

angelis_hermanAngelis S. Herman, 16, of Haverhill, died March 31, at Children’s Hospital, Boston, after a battle with a brief illness.

Born, raised and educated in Haverhill, son of Anand S. “Sam” Herman and Erica D. Marshall, he was presently a member of the Junior Class at Haverhill High School where he was a tutor for students with special needs. Herman was planning an education and a career in culinary arts.

A caring and sensitive young man, Herman was always smiling and was known for his great sense of humor and big hugs. He was a talented artist and enjoyed drawing, listening to music and spending time with friends. He also loved animals, nature and taking trips to the beach and camping. He was also an avid fan of The Walking Dead television show and enjoyed time with his family at the Convention this past summer in Boston.

He is survived by his parents, Anand S. “Sam” Herman and Erica D. Marshall of Haverhill; a brother and sister, Avian and Aaliyana Herman, both of Haverhill; aunts Sara (Gardner) McNair of Bolton, Savita DeFreitas of Somerville, Rita Ramotar of Woburn and Stephanie Quintanilla of Haverhill; uncle, Maurice “Mick” Gardner, IV of Haverhill; and several cousins, great aunts and great uncles. He was predeceased by his grandfathers Maurice Gardner III and Jermijn Lucien Herman.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Herman’s life celebration Tuesday, April 5, from 3 to 6 p.m., at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. His funeral service follows at 6:15 p.m., in the funeral home. Family and friends are invited back to the Garibaldi Club, 86 Washington St., Haverhill, following his services.
