Deway Cole, 84, Korean War Veteran

deway_coleDeway Cole, 84, of Bradford, died March 30, at his home surrounded by his family.

Born, raised and educated in Mullica Hill, N.J., son of the late John and Flossie (Hall) Cole, Cole served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Cole was employed as a fork lift driver for Borden Chemicals, North Andover, for 27 years from where he retired. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.

He was predeceased by his wife, Pauline (Comeau) Cole, and is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Rick Lizotte of Bradford; a son, Stephen Cole of Palm Bay, Fla.; Joanne Robinson of Haverhill who was like a second daughter; six grandchildren, Daniel Trongeau and his wife Stephanie, Melissa Merrill and her partner Jesse Downs, Tyra Barnes and her partner Chris Titcomb, Stephen Cole Jr. and his wife Shay, Corrinne McCurdy and her husband Jason, and Candice Bennett; 16 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.

Relatives and friends may call Friday, April 1, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. His funeral service will take place Saturday, at 9:30 a.m., in the funeral home followed by burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford, with the Rendering of Military Honors by the United States Army.
