Two Face Opium Trafficking Charges After River St. Arrests

Two people were arrested by Haverhill police Wednesday afternoon on opiate drug trafficking charges. The pair are due to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court.

Curtis O’Toole, 25, of 13 Center St., Methuen, and Annette Cardona, 25, of 443 High St., Lawrence, were arrested at about 12:50 p.m., Wednesday, on River Street, Haverhill. Each was charged with trafficking in heroin or morphine/opium, conspiracy to violate drug laws and drug violation near a school zone.

In other police news:

A Hampton, N.H., man is due in Haverhill District Court on theft and motor vehicle charges after his arrest by Haverhill police Wednesday evening.

Michael Maccaro, 40, of Hampton, was arrested at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, at 76 Winter St. He was charged with larceny over $250 by false instrument and driving with a suspended license.

Sonya Lebel, 36, of 40 Bellevue Ave., Haverhill, was arrested at 7:29 p.m., Wednesday, at 41 Bellevue Ave. She was charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Blanca Zayas, 27, of 426 Washington St., Haverhill, was arrested at 12:40 p.m., Wednesday, at home. She was charged with malicious damage to a motor vehicle, threat to commit a crime and making annoying telephone calls.
