Myron S. Woodman Jr., 92, Western Electric Purchaser

Myron_WoodmanMyron S. “Mike” Woodman Jr., 92, formerly of Haverhill, passed away Tuesday, March 29, at Sanctuary Care, Rye, N.H.

He was born in Haverhill, June 6, 1923, son of the late Myron S. and Delia E. (Flagg) Woodman. He was a graduate of Haverhill High School and entered the U.S. Army in March of 1943. He fought at the Beach of Normandy as well as the Battle of the Bulge. He was honorably discharged in October, 1945, receiving the EAME Campaign Service Medal with four bronze stars. Woodman was employed at the former Western Electric in North Andover as a purchaser for 30 years. He was a member of the Walnut Square Association, Haverhill, and a past member of the Carl B. Davis Post #34 – American Legion, Plaistow, N.H.

He was the husband of the late Frances (Demiris) Woodman, who died in 1998, and is survived by his daughter Linda J. Hoelzel of Raymond, N.H.; three grandchildren Clifford Hoelzel Jr., Jeffrey Hoelzel and Karen Glidden; three great grandchildren Brandon and Alexis Hoelzel and Jesse Glidden; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours Thursday, March 31, from 4 to 7 p.m., at H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. His funeral service will be Friday, April 1, at 11 a.m., at the funeral home. Interment with military honors follows in the Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.
