Paul_ChambersPaul G. Chambers, 55, died peacefully Saturday, March 26, at his home surrounded by his family, following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Rita M. (Disorbo) Chambers, with whom he would have celebrated 22 years of marriage in August.

Born in Haverhill Aug. 23, 1960, he was a son of Arlene (Smith) Suter and the late George Chambers. He was a graduate of Haverhill High School, and then went on to proudly serve his country as a member of the U.S. Army. He spent the majority of his career as a carpenter.

In his spare time, Chambers enjoyed cheering for Boston sports teams and watching NASCAR. Above all, his most cherished time was spent with his family, particularly taking trips to the White Mountains. He will always be remembered by all those that knew him for his genuine sense of humor and ability to live life to the fullest.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons, Anthony Balkus and his wife Samantha and Justin Ashford; two grandsons, Cameron and Cole Balkus; seven siblings, Steven Silva and his wife Cheryl, Russell Silva and his wife Carolyn, Daniel Silva and his wife Debbie, Cecilia Biggart and her husband Paul, Michael Chambers and his wife Suzanne, Mary Jane Praiano, and Sheila Lemiuex and her husband Michael; a sister-in-law, Kathy Ball; stepfather, David Suter; dear friends, Mark Balkus and Shirley Leavitt; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. He was also predeceased by his mother- and father-in-law, Frank and Helen Disorbo and his brother-in-law, Barry Praiano. His family would also like to thank his home health aide, Maria Rodriguez, for all of the love and care she showed him over the past three years.

His funeral service will be Wednesday in the Church of the Nazarene, 957, Kenoza St., Haverhill at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be Tuesday in the Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave., Haverhill from 4 to7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the American Lung Assoc., 1661 Worcester Rd., Ste. 301, Framingham, MA 01701. Interment will be held in Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford.
