Haverhill Man Faces Charges of Abusing Person Over 60

A Haverhill man is due to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court on assault-related charges after his arrest by Haverhill police early Saturday.

Ernest Borges, 43, of 8 Hall St., Haverhill, was arrested at 2:15 a.m., Saturday, at home. He was charged with assault and battery on a person over 60 or disabled and violation of an abuse prevention order.

In other police news:

Two men, arrested separately Friday on warrants for unrelated assault charges, are due in court.

Adam Archambault, 24, of 29 Smith St., Haverhill, was taken into custody at 8:56 a.m., Friday, at police headquarters, 40 Bailey Boulevard, on a warrant charging him with indecent assault and battery on a child.

Ricardo Betancourt, 36, of Lowell, was arrested at 1:47 p.m., Friday, at 39 South Main St. Under a warrant, he was charged with one count of assault.

A Haverhill man arrested by police Sunday morning on a charge of disturbing the peace heads to court.

Luis Cepeda, 30, of 14 Casablanca Court, Haverhill, was arrested at 6:20 a.m., Sunday, at home.

Two motorists, arrested separately by Haverhill police on impaired driving charges over the weekend, are due to appear in Haverhill District Court.

Louis Bouzianis, 43, of Saco, Maine, was arrested at 12:20 a.m., Saturday, at 530 Washington St., Haverhill. He was charged with driving under the influence of liquor, driving under the influence of drugs and negligent operation.

David Archambault, 55, of 5 Highland Ave., Haverhill, was arrested at 1:37 a.m., Sunday, at 795 River St. on a single count of driving under the influence of liquor.
