Community Action to Survey Mount Washington Households April 1

Community Action Inc. Executive Director John Cuneo.

Staff from Community Action Inc.  (CAI) will be in Haverhill’s  Mount Washington neighborhood Friday, April 1, from 1 to 3:30 p.m., conducting door-to-door and telephone surveys of residents who participate in CAI programs.

CAI Executive Director John Cuneo said about 700 Mount Washington households participate in one or more of CAI programs.

“Staff will attempt to call the participants that have listed telephone numbers and will go door-to-door to canvass those who do not have phones,” he said. Cuneo said both the telephone and the door-to-door surveys have the same eight questions that target the transportation and employment needs of Mount Washington residents. “It will only take a few minutes for participants to answer the questions,” he said.

Cuneo said the results of the survey will assist CAI in determining strategic planning objectives and will provide data for the City of Haverhill Working Cities application that is due in May. The Working Cities proposal will focus on the Mount Washington neighborhood.

Cuneo said staff who conduct the door-to-door surveys will work in groups of three and will wear CAI name tags. He added, the Haverhill Police Department has been notified of the upcoming survey and all city door-to-door survey procedures will be followed.

    • They’re not looking for feedback and input from working people. Community Action is a self-serving welfare agency. They’re looking for ideas on how to create more demand for the services they provide and to increase the number of people being dependent on what they do. The only thing they want from the working folks is the money to pay for it all.
