Those who would like to serve on a Democratic Ward Committee in Haverhill, but did not appear on the March 1 presidential primary ballot, may still have a chance.

The Haverhill Democratic City Committee is having its organizational meeting tonight at 6:30 p.m., at the Haverhill Public Library Auditorium, 99 Main St. The city committee will elect a chairperson, a male vice-chairperson, female vice-chairperson, treasurer and secretary. Each Ward Committee will also elect a chairperson and treasurer.

“Anyone who was not elected to the Ward Committee on March 1st can still join by attending. All you, your friends or family have to do is join us at the meeting and be elected by your Ward Committee,” said Democratic City Committee Chairman William D. Cox Jr.

Candidates for federal and state offices, or their representatives, are also expected to be in attendance to discuss their campaigns or have their nomination papers signed.
