David A. Chute Jr., 75, Cutter at Former Allan Shoe Co.

david_chuteDavid A. Chute Jr., 75, a native and lifelong resident of Haverhill, died Sunday, March 20, at  Holy Family Hospital at Merrimack Valley, Haverhill.

Son of the late David A. and Amy (Phillips) Chute, he attended Haverhill Public Schools and the former Haverhill Trade School. Employed in the local shoe industry as a cutter at the former Allan Shoe Company, he was employed for many years at the New Balance Shoe Co. of Lawrence until his retirement. A longtime active and devoted member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church of Haverhill, and the Sons of Italy Band, he was an accomplished guitarist and enjoyed singing for family and friends.

Predeceased by his wife Patricia (Brown) Chute, he will be remembered and missed by two sons, David A. Chute III and his wife Dawn of Haverhill, and Richard D. “Rick” Pushee of Clifton Park, N.Y.; three daughters, Bonnie M. Woolley and her husband David of Groveland, Deborah J. Carr of Haverhill, and Amy B. Chute of Haverhill; five brothers, Donald Chute and Phillip Chute of Maine, Timothy Chute of New Hampshire, Richard Chute of Haverhill, and Harold Chute of Methuen; sister Bessie MacDonald of Haverhill; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sons Christopher Chute and Michael Pushee, a brother Robert Chute and a sister Eleanor.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday, March 23,  from 5 to 8 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. His funeral takes place Thursday, March 24, at 11 a.m., at Good Shepherd Methodist Church, Main St., Haverhill. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to The David Chute Fund in care of the family.
