Police Arrest Four, Including Haverhill Pair, on Drug Charges

Two Haverhill residents are due to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court on drug trafficking and ammunition-related charges after their arrests Friday evening by Haverhill police detectives.

Eddie Matias, 46, and Olimary Figueroa, 36, both of 3 Avon Place, Haverhill, were arrested between 7:25 and 7:36 p.m., Friday, at home. Each was charged with trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in heroin/morphine or opium, conspiracy to violate drug laws and unlicensed possession of ammunition.

Earlier Friday, two people from Maine were arrested by Haverhill detectives on multiple drug possession charges, among others.

Vincent Cota, 23; and Nicole Horton, 24, both of Gorham, Maine, were arrested between 1:07 and 1:12 p.m., Friday, on Interstate 495 northbound. Cota was charged with possession of classes A and B drugs and conspiracy to violate drug laws. Horton was charged with two counts of possession of a class A drug, two counts of possession of a class B drug and two counts of conspiracy to violate drug laws. They were also due to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court.

In other police news:

A Groveland woman is due to appear in court on impaired driving and other motor vehicle charges after her arrest early Saturday by Haverhill police.

Sherri Melonas, 44, of Groveland, was arrested at 1:28 a.m., Saturday, on Buttonwoods Avenue. She was charged with driving under the influence of liquor, driving under the influence of drugs, negligent operation and violation of a license restriction.

A man from New York, N.Y. was to appear in Haverhill District Court on a charge of shoplifting stemming from his arrest Friday at CVS Pharmacy, 150 Lafayette Square. Enrique Rohenia, 24, of New York, was taken into custody at 10:30 a.m., Friday.

James Neptune, 31, 465 Groveland St., Haverhill, was charged driving with a suspended license, 7:59 p.m., Saturday, on Blaisdell Street.
