Police Seek Suspects After Shots Fired in Local Robbery

Haverhill police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect who robbed a Kenoza Avenue business at gunpoint late Monday afternoon and, in the process, allegedly fired at least one shot toward a victim.

An undetermined amount of cash was taken in the robbery, at 4:54 p.m., Monday, of a store at Mike’s Garage, 37 Kenoza Ave., according to Haverhill Police Captain Robert P. Pistone, police spokesperson. The suspect, described as a masked white male, about six feet tall, wearing a black hoodie, entered the store with a firearm drawn and told a male victim to “get on the ground.”

“(The) suspect then fired the gun towards the victim but did not hit the victim,” Pistone told WHAV. The suspect “fled on foot towards Ashland Street with an undisclosed amount of cash.”

Anyone with information about the robbery or the suspect is asked to contact Haverhill Detective Sean Scharneck at (978) 373-1211 or the anonymous tip line at (978) 373-1212, menu option “1.”
