Thelma L. (McIntosh) Post, 95, Worked at Hamel Leather

Thelma L. (McIntosh) Post, 95, of Haverhill, died Monday, Feb. 29, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Morton A. Post who died in 1980.

Born in West Newbury Aug. 15, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Harold E. and Jessie E. (Rogers) McIntosh. She resided in Haverhill most of her life and was a graduate of Haverhill public schools. Post was employed as a telephone operator at the former L.H. Hamel Leather Company in Haverhill for many years before her retirement in 1973. She had also once worked at the former Mitchell & Company for several years. She was a member of the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Haverhill for more than 60 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Gloria A. Post of Coon Rapids, Minn.; two sons, Raymond S. Post of Santee, Calif., and Charles W. Post of Barrington, N.H.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her grandson, Ricky Post.

Her funeral services will be Monday, March 7, in the Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave., Haverhill, at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Atkinson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Bethany Homes, 10 Phoenix Row, Haverhill, MA 01832.
