You could win a $150 Whole Foods gift card and help your favorite local historical site receive $500 by participating in Essex Heritage’s short-video contest.

“Find Your Story” is the organization’s public awareness campaign celebrating two milestone anniversaries: the 20th anniversary of the congressional act designating the Essex National Heritage Area and the National Park Service centennial.

“As a National Heritage Area celebrating our 20th anniversary during the National Park Service centennial year, we are building on the National Park Service’s popular ‘Find Your Park’ movement,” said Essex Heritage CEO Annie C. Harris. “Find Your Story is our way of joining with partners across the country to encourage everyone to find their park and share their stories. Our goal is to highlight and share the myriad of special historic, urban, natural and cultural places right here in our own backyards—and we have great prizes for people and their most loved places.”

The “Find Your Story Winter 2016 Challenge” invites people to share their favorite place in Essex County to enjoy winter—with or without snow—and explain why. Videos submitted by April 1 will be eligible to win the Winter Challenge prizes. Creator of the best video short will win a $150 Gift Card to Whole Foods, Swampscott, and the place the most individuals name will receive $500 from Essex Heritage.
