Michael (Manoog) Der Boghosian, 88, Wilson Foods Salesman

Michael_Der_BoghosianMichael (Manoog) Der Boghosian, 88, of Haverhill, passed away peacefully, Friday, Feb. 26, surrounded by his family.

He was the husband of Mary (Baronian) Der Boghosian, whom they shared 63 years of marriage. His other surviving family members include his devoted children, Andrea Der Boghosian of Boston, April Kaloostian and husband Ken of Haverhill and David Der Boghosian and wife Elaine of Salisbury; grandfather “Abba” to Emma and Harry Kaloostian; sister Zarty Chilingirian; brother in-law John Baronian; cousin Lu Sirmaian; and several nieces, nephews and many cousins. He was the brother of the late Jerry Der Boghosian.

Der Boghosian was born in Haverhill Nov. 28, 1927, son of Negoghos and Baizar (Accashian) Der Boghosian. He was a graduate of Haverhill High School, class of 1945, and continued to remain active in organizing his high school reunions and connecting with his classmates. He was a lifelong resident of Haverhill and he spent his winters in Del Ray Beach, Fla. He worked for more than 35 years as a salesman for Wilson Foods until his retirement. He enjoyed summers at the beach, playing cards with his Armenian friends, golf, tennis, the Boston Red Sox and he was always the “life of the party.”

Michael was a very proud Armenian and was an active leader in the Armenian Church for many years. He was a valuable resource of Armenian and family history. We all remember fondly listening to his stories around the dining room table. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends and will always fill our hearts with love, laughter and respect.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday morning, March 1, with Armenian Apostolic Funeral Rites being offered at 11:00 AM in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, Haverhill. Interment will follow in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill. Visiting hours will be Monday in the funeral home from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
