Democratic State Committeman James J. Fiorentini, Haverhill’s mayor, does not appear on the ballot. He is seeking write-in votes.

While voters will choose between presidential candidates Tuesday during the Massachusetts primary election, a number of local names also appear as political party representatives.

Republicans and Democrats will each select local committee members in each of the city’s seven wards and a state committeeman.

Long-time Democratic State Committeman James J. Fiorentini, Haverhill mayor, does not appear on the Democratic ballot because of a technical problem and is seeking write-in votes. Democratic State Committeewoman Louise C. Bevilacqua is also seeking re-election. Besides writing in a name in the space required for write-ins, voters also must circle the box next to the name.

On the Republican side, Gov. Charlie Baker last Thursday circulated an email, endorsing Shaun P. Toohey, Haverhill School Committee member, as the district’s Republican state committeeman. He did not endorse a state committeewoman for the district.

Baker also endorsed Susan Laplante and Rep. James Lyons as state committeeman and woman respectively in Andover.
