Federal and local police today arrested a 22-year-old Lawrence man and seized 300 grams of fentanyl-laced heroin with a street value of $20,000.

Christopher Graciano-Fernandez, 22, of 15 Birch St., Lawrence, was arrested in the parking lot of McDonalds Restaurant, 795 River St., Haverhill, and charged with trafficking heroin, according to Haverhill Police Captain Robert P. Pistone, police spokesman. Federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) agents from Boston, Portland, Maine, and the DEA’s Cross Border Initiative, and Haverhill detectives coordinated the arrest.

“This was excellent drug interdiction work by our law enforcement partners in the DEA who continue to help us keep this deadly drug out of our city. We are thankful for the DEA’s continued assistance,” Pistone said.

Fernandez was booked at the Haverhill Police station, held without bail and transported to Essex County House of Correction. He will be arraigned Monday, Feb. 29, in Haverhill District Court.
