The public will have an opportunity to learn more about WHAV’s plans to launch a new FM radio station at 97.9 during a networking mixer Tuesday.

Peddler’s Daughter/Bistro 45 and WHAV are sponsoring a Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce Business Networking Mixer from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 23, at 45 Wingate St., Haverhill.

WHAV officials will use the opportunity to provide an update on plans to “Make Waves” and bring local news to FM. Last year, the Federal Communications Commission granted WHAV a construction permit to put the new radio station on the air. Peddler’s Daughter/Bistro 45 will provide complimentary hors d’oeuvres and beverages.

There will also be raffle of door prizes from Cory Glass, Cranney Companies, Ed the Plumber, John Anton’s Cleaners, Martin’s Flower Mart, My Mad Packers and Valley Credit Repair.

Tickets are $10 for members of the Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce and $20 for non-members. Reservations may be made by calling (978) 686-0900 or visiting www.merrimackvalleychamber.com.
