Cleanup efforts continue into Tuesday from the latest snowstorm that left nearly three inches of ice-coated snow overnight in Greater Haverhill and across the Merrimack Valley.

Snow removal crews continue sanding and plowing while a winter weather advisory for icy road conditions is in effect until 9 a.m. today. Temperatures are expected to later rise to around 50 degrees and Wave Weather reports a wind advisory will be in effect this afternoon and early evening while rain showers are forecast. As much as 2.7 inches of precipitation in Haverhill and 2.5 inches in Methuen were reported by weather spotters overnight to the National Weather Service.

Andover Police reported several local fires this week were caused by homeowners attempting to re-heat frozen pipes. Police suggest calling professional plumbers.
