Laurie Ann Grassi, 55, Chef at Al’s Place, 99 Restaurant, Longhorn

laurie_ann_grassiLaurie Ann Grassi, 55, of Haverhill, passed away Jan. 28, at Merrimack Valley Hospice surrounded by her family.

Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of Gerard Grassi and the late Dorothy (Brizadi) Grassi. Raised and educated in Haverhill she was a graduate of Haverhill High School, class of 1978. Grassi was employed as a chef for many years at various restaurants including Al’s Place, The 99 Restaurant and the Longhorn for the past several years. She loved all kinds of animals, especially her cats and dogs. She was a hard worker and in her spare time she loved to shop. Laurie and her daughter were inseparable and her most treasured moments were spending time shopping with her daughter and caring for her animals.

She leaves her daughter Kelly Marshall of Merrimac; boyfriend Michael P. Bakanosky;  beloved cats, Tom, Bart and Boukie; and her dog, Poodles.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours Tuesday, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Contributions may be made in her memory to the MSPCA, 500 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
