An ongoing investigation into an alleged “stranger” incident near a Bradford school bus stop has Haverhill police asking children and parents to take preventative measures.
A report was made to police last Friday of a Hunking Middle School student approached by “a man in a white van” while walking home from a Peabody Street bus stop. Haverhill detectives are seeking a suspect described as a middle aged white male driving a white “work” truck,” according to Haverhill Police Captain Robert P. Pistone.
“Children are urged to walk in groups when possible and, if approached by a stranger, they should make as much noise as possible, yell for help and get to a safe location. Parents are urged to speak with their children about what to do if approached by strangers,” Pistone told WHAV.
Hunking Principal Shannon Nolan sent parents an e-mail alert after the incident was “immediately reported to the police.”
