Richard J. Lesiczka, 68, Worked at Lucent 34 Years

Richard_LesiczkaRichard J. Lesiczka, 68, of Haverhill,husband of Mary L. (Sullivan) Lesiczka, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage, passed away Sunday, Jan. 17, surrounded by his family.

Born in Haverhill, he was the son of Mary A. Lesiczka of Haverhill and the late Stanley W. Lesiczka. He attended St. James Grammar School and was a graduate of St. James High School, class of 1964. He was a graduate of UMass Lowell with a degree in mechanical engineering. He retired from Lucent Technologies in North Andover, where he was employed for more than 34 years. Lesiczka served his country in The United States Army Reserve.

Surviving him in addition to his wife and mother are his children Matthew J. Lesiczka and his wife Christa M. of Boston, and Kathryn J. Wolman and her husband Daniel of Chelmsford; two grandchildren, Hannah and Joshua Wolman of Chelmsford; sister, Joanne Carbone of Atkinson, N.H.; in-laws John and Janice Sullivan of Palmdale, Calif.; Joan Sullivan and Barbara Sullivan, both of Haverhill; and a nephew, nieces, grandnephews, aunts, uncle and several cousins.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours Friday, Jan. 22, from 3 to 7 p.m., at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services begin Saturday morning at 9, from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m., at St. James Church, Winter Street, Haverhill. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Haverhill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Open Hand Pantry, 6 Cottage Street, Haverhill.
