Wednesday is the first day candidates in Plaistow and Sandown, N.H. can file to run in their respective annual town elections in March.
The town clerk’s office in each community will be accepting candidate “sign ups” Wednesday, Jan. 20 to 5 p.m., Friday, Jan. 29. In Plaistow, 2016 town contests will include those for two seats on the board of selectmen, four on the budget committee, one for planning board, as well as three library trustees and two alternate library trustees. Sandown town races this year include two for board of selectmen, six for either three or two year terms on the budget committee, two for planning board and two for library trustee. Town election day in both communities is Tuesday, March 8.
