Haverhill Democrats to Meet, Hold Caucuses Next Month

The Haverhill Democratic City Committee is meeting next month to discuss campaign activities for the year and elect delegates to the 2016 Massachusetts State Democratic Party Convention.

The meeting takes place at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 11, at Haverhill Public Library’s Johnson Auditorium, 99 Main St. At 7 p.m., caucuses are scheduled for all seven wards of the city to elect delegates to the state party convention, Saturday, June 4, at the Tsongas Center, Lowell.

The meeting is open to the public, but only those persons registered as Democrats in Haverhill as of Jan. 31, may vote or be a candidate for delegate in the ward caucuses, according to William D. Cox Jr., committee chairman.

  1. It’s too bad Democrats don’t believe in liberty, much like their equally crony capitalistic Republican brethren. If they did, they would follow Maine and Nebraska and vote to split Electoral Votes, but we all know why they will not.
